Marco Buccheri I received my Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm and in Environmental Engineering from the Politecnico of Torino taking part in a European exchange program leading to a double degree. My master thesis in Stockholm focused on the optimization of the oxygen reduction reaction at the cathode in Alkaline Fuel cells. Most recently at the University of Calgary, my research focus is on developing coke tolerant anodes for solid oxide fuel cells by adopting both a conduction layer and functional layer in the anode structure of the cell. I will also investigate and prevent the phenomena that lead to carbon deposition on the anode structure that are responsible for the deactivation of the catalytic material and irreversible damages to the fuel cell. |
